Weekly Stitching

Happy Fall Y'all!!! Our weather is supposed to have fall temps this week and I can't wait. I am so looking forward to that cool, crispness in the air and going to the Pumpkin Farm. I will finally be able to sit on my front porch and stitch and enjoy the weather and colors of fall.

Needles and Pins-Theron Traditions

Kings and Queens of England-Bothy Threads
I need to do the backstitching on three of them but will go back and get that soon. Saturday night, my husband spilled his drink on this project. I just have to say, he is a very lucky man that it did not stain my project.

Old World Santa Book 2-Prairie Schooler
I am stitching this as a gift. There is a group that was set up to stitch as many of these as possible for a fellow blogger/flosstuber and they are to be mailed out the first of October. I don't want to give her name out as she may possibly read this, I will post that once it has been mailed and received.

Dog Rules for People-Lizzie Kate
I have been participating in a Lizzie Kate Round Robin for the past few months and this week I received my project back. I still have to stitch the top and bottom line for it to be finished but I am thrilled with it. This week will be busy and not sure I will get it finished as I need to get out the Prairie Schooler Santa and a Band Sampler I am working on for another round robin but I hope to be able to get this done by the end of October.

I only bought thread this week for a few projects as far as haul goes. However, I did get a fabulous basket to keep my wips in. I purchased it at the At Home store in the laundry storage area. I saw it a few weeks ago and kept thinking about it so I went back for it. It has wheels on it and is deep so it will hold quite a few wips. I filled it with 10 of those slim plastic cases and about 10 of the mesh project bags and they all fit. I failed to take a picture of it filled, but will do that for the next update. Here is a pic of what it looks like.

I hope you all have a great week filled with stitching!

Random Act of Kindness

I have always said that stitching friends are the best ones to have. However, I believe that more all the time. The more I participate in groups on facebook, watching flosstube, and the interaction I have with those that read my blog, it really renews my faith in goodness and that there are people in the world that do what is right and take care of each other. It seems that you see so much destruction and discontent in our world these days and it just warms my heart to be a part of a group that is so kind and gracious.

My friend Susan saw that I liked the Lavender and Lace and Told in a Garden patterns from my posts here on the blog and she sent me some gifts. I didn't have any of the ones that she sent me and she also sent an Elsa Williams kit that is beautiful. I can't wait to start them all.

Judith Kirby Halloween Houses

Are you looking for these? They are out of print and going for huge prices on ebay or stash selling groups. However, as I was watching a flosstuber (Reading and Stitching), she mentioned that there was a store in Michigan that has them for retail. I called them on Friday and the designer has given this store permission to reprint. They are selling them for 9.95 each and I am very excited to have gotten them both. Stitch N Time can be reached at 989-781-5209. They were super nice on the phone and more than happy to help with this purchase.

By the way, you can also read the Reading and Stitching blog here.

Game of Thrones Tapestry

I always love to see anything needlework related and especially when it is featured in a popular television show or event that many will have access to. I just think this craft needs to be kept alive and engage others to want to become a part of the community and produce their own works. I thought you might all be interested in this.

Under the Sea Fabrics Sale

Under the Sea Fabrics is my favorite place to buy hand dyed fabric. I met Leslie a little over two years ago at a retreat and she is just fantastic. The sale going on right now is the Anniversary sale from when she first opened her business. You will get 15% off your total purchase and just use the code Anniversary17 at checkout. The sale ends the last day of September. Be sure and tell her that I sent you.

Leslie will also be opening up some spots to join her Fabric of the Month program at the end of September/first of October. She has a large variety of options available and at different price ranges to fit all budgets.

Thread Heaven

Do you use Thread Heaven?? I do and am disappointed to find out that the company owners are retiring and they will no longer be in business. They announced on their facebook page yesterday and that they no longer have any stock, everything has been shipped out. So, when the stores sell all they have, that will be it for this product. I know there are other brands and you can use beeswax but if this one is your favorite, you should stock up now before it is all gone.

Halloween Pattern Sale

I always like to share sales with everyone as it is great when we can find a deal on stash. Everything Cross Stitch has a sale on Halloween patterns right now.

Weekly Stitching

I hope you are all having cooler weather like we are here in Ky. It is so nice to be able to go outside and not sweat in the first few minutes you are out there. I also hope you were able to get some good stitching in this past week. I did over the weekend and while I didn't get as much done as I had hoped, I did have some progress.

I started the Kings and Queens of England by Bothy Threads. I am almost done with the first one and it is my goal to do one a week.

I love this sampler and think the colors look so good on this fabric. Needles and Pins by Theron Traditions.

This what it looked like before I stitched on it over the weekend.

The piece looks like this now.

The completed piece will look like this.

I also worked on The New England Schoolgirl Sampler by Theron Traditions. I skipped around a little as I need a couple of threads.

It looked like this the last time you saw it.

And now.

This is the completed piece.

Have a great stitchy week!!!

Heaven and Earth Designs

I love Heaven and Earth Designs and will never have enough time in my life to be able to stitch all the ones I would love to do. I wanted to share their sale information in case you are like me and love these designs. They are currently having a 45% off sale until midnight on September 10-so run and stock up!

Haul

I received a package yesterday of stash that I had purchased about a week and a half ago. Sew and So in the UK was having a fantastic sale where many items were 75% off. I just checked their site and they still have this sale going on with a large variety of items. I feel a little embarrassed by the large purchase but I got everything for around $40 US, including the kit and shipping. So, I think you all know me well enough by now to know that I can't pass up a deal like that. I did get another of the Shepherds Bush stockings, but it turned out I already had it. I will offer it up in a future giveaway. I apologize for glare on a few of the items, I was having trouble getting a good pic in every place I tried.

I was excited to get this. I purchased the companion piece called Fire and Ice a few years ago and wanted the one to go with it and so glad I found it at a great deal.

I purchased this on stash unload.

New Release

Have you seen the new release in the Hawk Run Hollow series? I am not a big Halloween project stitcher but I do like this and think I need it. It is to be released on September 15 but you can preorder now from Down Sunshine Lane.
They also have a thread list up so you can go ahead and get supplies while you wait on the pattern to be delivered.

In Search

I am in search of a magazine and I have been looking on ebay and various facebook groups. I have not had any luck so I wanted to post here to see if anyone might have this and want to sell to me.

Weekly Stitching and Haul

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

I haven't stitched as much as I would have liked over the past two weeks but I do have some progress.

I had a new start on September 1. I joined a group on facebook for a SAL and it started on that day. I am loving this so far.

15 Things About Me

Many of you are flosstube watchers and have seen several stitchers doing the tag called 20 things about me. I sat down today to make a list and I did not have 20 things but here are close to 20 things about me.

1. I am addicted to chapstick. If I leave the house and discover that I don't have any with me, I have to go buy some.
2. I love anything related to England and the royal family. This includes history of England, castles, etc. This is one of my favorite subjects to stitch, as well.
3. I have similar stitching tastes of Stephanie from Ms. Oh Sew Crafty and Nicole of Nicole's Needleworks and when I see the projects they are working on, I think that I need to have them too.
4. I love front porches-the long, big ones of old Plantation houses. I think in part it is because I am from the south but just the idea of a nice porch decorated for the season and friends and family gathered with a drink and great conversation just warms my heart.
5. I have to sleep with a fan or in a really cool room. Just a warning, if you ever decide to room with me at a retreat, I might freeze you out.
6. I always have to put on my left shoe first.
7. I have sold a little bit of everything. Well, maybe not sold, but tried to sell. I think I see the possibility and the idea of helping out a friend that I am signing up under gets me. I have been a consultant for Tupperware, Melaleuca, Mia Bella candles, Arbonne, Limelight, and now Jamberry. I think there might be one or two that I am missing. Jamberry isn't doing so well for me and I WILL NOT sign up for anything else again.
8. I love music of all kinds. Classical, country, rap, hard rock, pop, you name it. I am very rarely without some type of music playing in the house, the car, and at work.
9. I love trivia games.
10. I love to read. I always have but have chosen stitchng over reading this year.
11. Fall is my favorite season and I wish I could live somewhere with fall temps year round. Love the crispness in the air, wearing sweatshirts and sweaters, the colors, and festivals
12. I like to backstitch. I love the way it just makes a piece pop.
13. I have extreme motion sickness and it has gotten worse with age.
14. I think I could eat mexican food every single day.
15. I was in the marching band and winter guard in high school and I still can't get enough of it. My best friend from high school is the same way and we have often gone to watch marching band and guard competitions even though we didn't have kids in it or know anyone with kids that was competing.
