Weekly Stitching, Haul, and Cross Stitch Crushes

Good Morning!!! I hope you all had a great week full of stitching. I feel like I got quite a bit accomplished.

Mary-Nativity Series by Mill Hill

Joseph-Nativity Series by Mill Hill
I have joined an event on Stitch Maynia where you start a new project on the 18th of each month. This was my start for January 18 and it is just barely a start.

London-Thea Gouveneur
The picture makes the phone book look orange but it is more red in person.

Henry VIII-Heaven and Earth Designs
I am participating in an event called Stitchathon on the facebook group Cross Stitch Finish Line. Two weekends a month are designated as Stitchathons and you post a picture on Friday of your starting point, stitch as much as you can, and then post a picture of what you accomplished on Monday morning. Every 500 stitches gets you an entry into a drawing to win a gift card at the end of the year. I was able to get 1000 stitches done on Henry. It was pretty easy to get that many done as it was mostly just two colors. However, I am getting to a point of lots of confetti.

Love Never Fails-Barbara Ana
I picked up a couple of threads that I needed for this on Saturday and stitched the heart portion around the words. I had to rip out some and restitch and there is a small amount on the right side that isn't correct that I need to rip out as well. I didn't have good luck with this one over the weekend.

I went to Hobby Lobby on Saturday to get thread and saw this kit. I have had this pattern on my wish list and with their weekly 40% off coupon, it was only 19 for the whole kit so I couldn't pass it up.

12 Days of Christmas-Joan Elliott

Ok..so you are probably wondering what the heck is a Cross Stitch Crush. I am talking about other stitchers or flosstubers that you just love the projects they work on. For me, it is Nicole of Nicole's Needleworks. I LOVE everything she works on and I feel like I need it all. Also, Stephanie of MsOhSewCrafty. You can click on their names to check out their blogs and they both are flosstubers with the same name. If you haven't watched them or read their blogs, you should go check them out.
Who is your cross stitch crush?

Weekly Stitching and Haul

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

I haven't stitched as much as I would have liked over the past two weeks but I do have some progress.

Let Freedom Ring-Lila's Studio

I had a new start on September 1. I joined a group on facebook for a SAL and it started on that day. I am loving this so far.

Needles and Pins-Theron Traditions

It will look like this when finished.

The next three items are the haul that I received this week.

I love houses and couldn't pass this one up.

Weekly Stitching

Happy Eclipse Day! I am in Kentucky and very close to the path where you get a great viewing, so hopefully I will be able to run out on my afternoon break and get a look. Are any of you planning on watching today?

I got alot of stitching in over the weekend and hope you did as well.

Henry VIII-Heaven and Earth Designs As soon as I finish the row I am on, I will have a half page finished.

Let Freedom Ring-Lila's Studio I have to rip out some stitches on the bottom large flower.

New England Schoolgirl Sampler-Theron Traditions I love this piece, the color of the fabric mixed with the colors of the threads makes this piece so pretty and I have a hard time putting it down.

Laura Plantation-Leslie Wristers I really like this piece as the picture on the pattern just doesn't bring it to life the way the stitches do. The mix of variegation on the tree just makes it look so real.

Weekly Stitching

I must say Monday morning came too quickly for me today. I am having some coffee as I write this in hopes that it will kick me into gear for the day. It is starting to rain a bit and just makes me want to stay in bed. I hope that everyone had a great weekend filled with lots of stitching.

I didn't work on Henry VIII-HAED at all this past week but I will get back to him this week with my allotted one hour a day. I have missed him and although the point I am at right now is all part of the background, I want to stitch away so I can get to the good stuff and start to see Henry appear.

Florin-Ink Circles

A friend kitted this up for me and gifted to me and the thread she chose was not what was called for but it is gorgeous. One of the threads is a variegated with blue, purples and white mixed. You will be able to see that one in the picture.

Let Freedom Ring-Lila's Studio

I had been waiting on the specialty thread on this project and it came in so I was able to make some good progress.

Laura Plantation-Leslie Wristers

I had been waiting on the specialty thread for this project as well, and it came this week. I think this project will be so pretty when completed. The picture just does not show how nice it looks stitched.

New England Schoolgirl Sampler-Theron Traditions

I am in love with this project.

I only received the specialty threads this week for the two projects that I worked on. I do have a little bit of haul coming and will post that as soon as it is delivered.
I am still contemplating my rotation and how many wips I have and making it all work to get some finishes. So, this week, my question to you is, how many wips do you currently have?

Weekly Stitching and Mostly Haul

Can you believe that today is the last day of July?? Summer is flying by and while I do like summer, I am ready for weather that is less hot and humid. I am ready for the days of wearing sweatshirts and sitting on the front porch as I work on my latest project.

I did not stitch much this past week. It seemed there were things going on or I was just tired after work and did not pick up a needle. I only worked on Henry VIII last night and did about 120 stitches. I am not sure I like this as you can see the white fabric peeking through but it would be too bulky if I used three stands of thread, instead of the two I am currently using. I don't want to start it over so it will have to do on this project.

I work at a hospital and our gift shop had a Christmas in July sale last week and I got this cute Vera Bradley bag for 75% off. It is a laptop bag but is perfect to be used as a project bag.

I fell in love with a couple of ornaments I saw online a good while ago and did not realize there was a whole set of them until I met my friend for a stitch weekend and looked at a book she had with her. So of course, I had to get online immediately and find it. I got this for $3!!! You can't pass up a deal like that.

It would seem this was a week of good bargains..and yes they continue. A stitch friend of mine purchased a large lot of cross stitch and had items in it that she didn't want or already had. She sold me a few items at a great deal and here is what I got.

Midsummer Night's Fairy by Mirabilia and it is completely kitted.

Mermaid of the Pearls by Mirabilia and it is completely kitted.

Flower Power-Crossed Wing Collection Pattern Only

Patriotic Eagle Head-Rebecca Jacks Pattern Only

I do have a little bit of haul that will be delivered today and then I MUST STOP for awhile. Does anyone have good pointers for not buying???

Weekly Update

I think I should call this monthly update since I haven't posted in about a month. I was a bit under the weather and so was my husband, then it seemed like so much going on that I just didn't get to the blog. I have also lost my stitchy bug a bit. I want to stitch but everything I pick up just seems to not want me to work on it. I am sure hoping I get my I want to stitch vibe back really soon.

I did start two new projects in hope that it would help.
This is Gothic Cross by HAED.

The completed project will look like this.

I have had this project for a long time but it has intimidated me. I decided that it was time to start it.
Medieval Town Mandala by Chatelaine.

The completed project will look like this.

I hope you are having a great stitchy time and getting lots of projects completed. I do have some haul on the way and I will post that as soon as I get it.

Weekly Stitching

I hope everyone has had a great week and got lots of stitching time in.

I started the second Advent Animal by Brookes Books.

I worked mostly on Save the Stitches by Blackwork Journey. I was very intimidated by this piece as I had never done a piece that was primarily blackwork but I love this piece. I have barely put it down over this past week. The pattern is free and the site has several other great freebies as well. I have plans of doing a couple of the others once this one is completed.

My plans this week include a new start! I joined an event through Stitch Maynia on facebook where you start a new project on the 17th of each month. I am still contemplating what it will be but I am thinking it might be a Christmas one. I should also have some haul to show later in the week. I ordered some things last year and they have now been shipped and set for delivery so I am hoping they will be here tomorrow. I am very excited to share those. I hope you all have a great week!

Weekly Stitching and Plans

Happy Second week of the New Year! I hope that everyone is enjoying all of their new 2017 starts. I have been thinking about the year and what I want to accomplish and I must say I have some very ambitious ideas of what I want to start and finish. I have also come up with a rotation plan that I think will work very well for me.

Rotation Plans
-Once the stitching starts on George Washington Crossing the Delaware, I will need to do about 125 stitches a day to stay on track, so I will do that each day.
-The monthly SAL's that I have joined will be worked when the new monthly pattern comes out until they are finished.
-One project of any size, that is not full coverage.
-One project that is full coverage.
-One Brookes Books Advent Animal ornament.
-The Sistine Chapel on Sundays. I started this piece so long ago and there is very little stitched on it. I will get this out and post a picture next week of where I am on it, but this is a picture of the finished project.

It is my plan to work on George daily and once the SAL's have been completed, which hopefully will be in the first week of each month, I will move on. For example:
Monday: George and then the project that is not full coverage.
Tuesday: George and then the project that is full coverage.
Wednesday: George and the Brookes Books Advent Animal Ornament.

Then I will repeat this plan until the first of the next month where I will do the SAL's once again the first week of the month. Once I finish one of the projects, I will add in another one that fits the criteria I have laid out. It just doesn't seem to work for me to count a certain number of stitches or a certain number of hours and then move to another project. It is too much to track and takes away from the time I can spend stitching. I am in hopes that this will allow me to have several more finishes than usual and to get quite a bit of work on my full coverage pieces. I also think it will allow me to spend more time concentrating on a couple of projects rather than jumping around so much and taking me so long to get a finish.

I have my first finish of 2017! This is Day 1 of the Brooke's Books Advent Animals. I apologize for the wrinkles, I was so excited about having a finish so quickly in the new year, that I took a pic as soon as I put in the last stitch.

I worked on Patriotic Quilt by Rosewood Manor this week.

What did you work on this week?

Weekly Stitching

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday and that you are all ready for a great new year. Did you start something new on the 1st? I would love to hear what you worked on.

The last time I showed you 272 Words, it looked like this.

I was able to get quite a bit done on this over the past week.

I started a new project on January 1. Save the Stitches by Blackwork Journey. The pattern is a freebie and I have had the fabric and thread for quite awhile but I was a bit intimidated on starting it. I have never done blackwork before and some of the designs are quite intricate, however, I am really enjoying this piece. I changed the thread color and I am using Blackberry by Weeks Dye Works. The pattern does call for some metallic colors but I am not sure I will use any of them.

On January 2, I decided to pull out a wip to work on as I am going to try very hard this year to get many wips finished. I had the wording already stitched-I started this piece in August 2016. I stitched the flags yesterday. This one is called Patriotic Quilt by Rosewood Manor.

I hope you all have a great stitchy week!

Weekly Stitching

Hello everyone! I hope that you are all getting ready for Christmas and cooler weather. It has gotten quite cold here the past few days and I can't believe it is almost Christmas! I am way behind on gift buying this year and I haven't decorated at all. I didn't stitch much this past week so there isn't much to show. It was a rough week at work and when I got home each night, I relaxed and watched a bunch of videos on flosstube.

272 Words at the point I started this week.

272 Words at the point I stopped at last night.

I hope you all have a great stitchy week!

Weekly Stitching and Haul

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend. I sure did! I feel like all I did was eat!

I was able to get in some stitching around the time I was eating though.

272 Words-The first picture is where I started from.

And this is where I got to. I just love this piece and it is stitching up pretty quickly.

I worked on America the Beautiful by Sue Hillis for the first time in quite a while. I haven't shared this one since I first started my blog. I was able to complete Iowa, Wisconsin and start on Illinois. This piece is also one I have included in my Year of Wips project in hopes that I will finish by the end of 2017.

I started this stocking in March at a retreat and needed to have stitched it over 2, but I had started it over 1. So I ripped out the small amount that I had finished and restarted. It is my goal to do all of the Shepherds Bush stockings and I am loving this one. I think it is going to be my goal to have one of these going at all times until I can finish them all.

It will look like this when completed.

I am combining the haul with this stitching update as I don't have much. I took advantage of the Joanns 4 for $1 sale on thread. I was able to get thread to kit up three Mirabilia's and the thread needed for the Brooke's Books Advent Animal ornaments.

Weekly Stitching

Happy Thanksgiving Week! I love Thanksgiving and very excited that it is here and I only have to work three days this week. I hope you all have a fantastic day filled with food, family, and stitching.

I worked on London this week. The first picture is where I was when I started on it this week and the second picture is where I stopped. The area of the clouds is blank right now and I am stitching around it as I realized I didn't have the thread I needed for that part.

I have a new start! Surprise, right? I often have new starts. This is European landmark buildings. I love the colors. I kept checking several times to make sure I was using the correct color as it didn't seem like I was a few times. However, I came to realize that is the pattern and it is all so colorful and meant to be that way. There is a ton of confetti so it will be slow going but I think it will be great once it's finished.
