Haul 2.0

The Stitchin' Post in Nashville is closing. The owners have decided to retire and they didn't find a buyer for the store. Over the weekend they had a great deal of spend at least $50 and you get 50% off your total purchase. And spend I did! I have never made a large purchase like this at once and more than likely will never again but I just could not pass up the great deals. So here we go....

I purchased the Renaissance Mermaid from Under the Sea Fabrics when it came out.

I purchased these two on ebay last week for a great price.

I have been ordering these through Stoney Creek, they are free each month right now.

Haul

I met with a stitch friend over the weekend and we had a great time. We went stash shopping, stitched, and ate and repeated. I usually see her at a couple of retreats throughout the year, but we also get together a couple of times a year where we spend the weekend taking part in shopping, stitching, and eating. We decided a couple of years ago to start giving each other a goodie bag of items a couple of times a year. We have been doing a large goodie bag in August and then a smaller one for birthdays and Christmas. Here is what I received this weekend from her.

We also made a quilted ornament. I knew that she had made them before and I wanted to learn and it was great fun. I can't wait to make more. Here is the one I made.

Weekly Stitching

I hope you all had a great weekend and the weather wasn't too hot. It was very hot and humid here to the point of being miserable outside. However, I met a friend for a stitch weekend and we stayed in where it was cool for the most part and had a great time.

I started my rotation this past week but wasn't able to stitch every day but I did get quite a bit done overall.

I also worked quite a bit on Save the Stitches by Blackwork Journey. I had put this away for a good while and I don't know why as I really enjoy working on it. I completed the last row of blocks on the piece. I do need to go back to some previous blocks to finish from when I worked on it months ago. I apologize for the light on this picture, it isn't giving a true color of the fabric. It is stitched on Silver Mist by Fabrics by Stephanie.

And I have a finish! It was the first project that I put in my rotation as I knew it was so close to being finished.

I haven't yet decided what project I am going to add in the place of All The Pretty Flowers but will go through wips tonight and pick one out. I have quite a bit going on this week so not sure how much stitching I will get in. I hope you all have a great stitchy week!

Weekly Stitching

Good Monday to you all! There wasn't much stitching done by me this past week. It was back to work after the 4th holiday for me and over the weekend we celebrated my grandmothers birthday on Saturday. And then....we got rid of junk on Sunday. My husband and I recently moved and you don't really realize how much you have until you have to pack it and move it. So yesterday, we went through stuff and got rid of quite a bit. It really is a feeling of being a bit free when you do that. It was miserably hot though and think we should have waited until winter to go through the shed where it was stored.


I started Henry VIII by Heaven and Earth Designs on Saturday night but not much done yet.

As we were out for dinner on Saturday with my family, I was close to a Joann Fabric so I had to stop. I was just walking around the store and came across the cutest pincushion and add in a 50% off coupon for it and I could not pass it up.

Today is the beginning of my new rotation, which will be one hour of stitching on Henry VIII and then as much stitching as I can get in on another project. I think it will more than likely be the small pillow by Heartstring Samplery. I do plan on having quite a bit more to show you with the next update. Haul, Not Much Stitching, and Plans

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July filled with family, laughter, food, and celebration. I had four days off from work and planned to stitch the hours away. However, we were out and about and that just didn't happen. I was able to do a small amount and I have a new start! I have had the pattern since the Nashville market in March but just received my fabric. It took me a little bit to decide what to use.

Let Freedom Ring by Lila's Studio-It is being stitched on 28 count Properly Primitive by Under the Sea Fabrics. It is a very small start as I did have the border in the corner completed and after I stitched the flower, I realized the border color was not correct and I had to rip it out.

I still have not had much of a stitchy bug for a few weeks but I am hoping that is returning. At least I do feel like it is.

I do have a couple more items that were ordered before the Stitch from Stash started on July 1. I didn't do well at all with the first one that was from January to June so I am changing around plans a bit to make sure I do better this time. I have been thinking of a rotation that would work for me for a good while and just wasn't sure how to set it up. However, I think I now have a plan.

I have picked two Heaven and Earth Designs:
Henry VIII-one that I will be starting this weekend.
Gothic Cross

I will stitch one hour a day on Henry VIII until I get a page finish and then I will go to Gothic Cross and do the same thing. I think if I rotate between two of them this way, I can make some pretty good progress.

I have picked 7 other projects:
Let Freedom Ring-Lila's Studio I just started this one this week.

Heartstring Samplery Small I am almost finished with this project.

London-Thea Gouveneur This will be a new start as I ordered it last week on the black fabric.

Americana Series-Little House Needleworks This project is also a new start that I will start sometime next week.

Brookes Books Advent Animal ornaments It was my goal to do two a month this year and right now I am a little behind. I only have the border to finish on number 4 and I will continue to add one of these in the rotation until they are all finished.

Save the Stitches-Blackwork Journey I have started this one and am excited to get back to it.

Angel of Love-Lavender and Lace I started this piece a few months ago and this is one I have wanted to do for years.

I will stitch one one project a day so that I will touch them all each week. After I stitch on the HAED of the day for an hour, I will then spend whatever time I have left to stitch for the day on one of these. I will then add in a project when one is finished. I know that I will have to amend this a bit once stitching on George Washington Crossing the Delaware starts but I think this is a rotation that I can really do and keep up with and hopefully make a dent in my wips and get several more finishes this year.

Weekly Stitching

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday! I can't believe it is already June and summer is starting. The weekend was beautiful out but back to rain today. I hope you have been able to get in lots of stitching lately.

I decided to start a small over the weekend so I can feel like I am getting some finishes. I have just about decided that I am going to start a small each month since most of my projects are BAP's.

I bought this as a kit and is a quick stitch.

I am currently participating in two round robins and wanted to show what I stitched on in May. May was the first month for both of these. The first one is a Lizzie Kate theme and I stitched the second line on this one. There are five of us in this round robin.

The second one is a Band Sampler theme where we will stitch a band of our choosing on everyone's piece. I stitched the second line on this one as well. There are nine of us in this one and this will make a nice long piece.

The person that had my Band Sampler posted a picture of what she did on it in May and here it is. I did the alphabet and she stitched the remainder. I am so pleased with this band. I sent fall colors for mine and this is so pretty.
