Weekly Stitching, Haul and Retreat

Happy Monday! I hope you are all getting ready to celebrate Easter and hunt those eggs.

Early Americans-Little House Needleworks

Laura Plantation-Leslie Wristers

I haven't worked on this in a good while and picked it up this week. When I picked it back up I had only stitched a small amount of the tree going across so I got quite a bit done on this one.

My friend Nessie hosts a retreat at Lake Cumberland, here in KY, each year and this was my third year going. I had to use most of my time off for my surgery so I couldn't take off work on Thursday and Friday but it is fairly close to me so I went on Saturday. It was great fun seeing stitchers that I haven't seen since last year, meeting new ones that came for the first time, good food, much laughter and a bit of shopping and stitching.

Let Your Heart Be Light-Shakespeare's Peddler This project is a limited edition, exclusive pattern that was done just for Katrina Boyd to sell at retreats she is a part of. Click on her name and check out the retreats she has, so you can hopefully attend. They are great fun!

One of the stitchers brought a box of kits to giveaway and I got two.

I wouldn't typically stitch this but my husband loves to fish so it will be for him

Weekly Stitching and Haul

Good Morning! It looks like rain here today and according to the weather, rain is in our forecast for the next two weeks. But that means spring!

Early Americans-Little House Needleworks

I didn't stitch on this as much as I had hoped to because I started a new project.

I had been looking for the Queene Besse Chess Board by Leon Conrad and did not find it, so I purchased another one that I really liked. I love blackwork and this project was so much fun to stitch on.

ChessBoard-Blackwork Journey

I am stitching this on Galen 28 count linen by Under the Sea Fabrics. It was the February Fabric of the Month. I am using DMC Perle #12 in 310 for the stitched border and regular DMC 310 for the blackwork inside each square. It also called for a metallic of some kind to be added in some blocks and I have purchased a rust colored petite treasure braid to use.

It will look like this when finished.

Haul

I am so excited that I was able to find Medieval Majesty by Leon Conrad. I paid more for it than I normally would a pattern, but it is a very nice 50 page book with very detailed instructions for each section. I can't wait to get started on this but will be a little bit as I decide on fabric.

I hope you all have a great week filled with lots of stitches!

Weekly Stitching and Haul

I only have one project to show today. I have been working on two this past week but I can't show one of them as I have a friend that reads my blog and I have purchased the same kit to send her and she hasn't received it yet. I should be able to show it soon.

Early American Series-Little House Needleworks

I have a little bit of haul this week as Everything Cross Stitch had all of their patriotic patterns on sale.

Liberty Lane-Country Cottage Needleworks

Stars and Stripes Forever-Bent Creek

Starburst Patriotic-Cherry Lane Designs

Stars and Stripes-Prairie Schooler

I thought I would start including a couple of new things with my weekly updated.

What I am listening to this week: Revival by Eminem I am a huge fan of Eminem and this cd is his best I think.

What I am reading this week: By Gaslight by Steven Price

I hope you all have a great week filled with stitches.

Weekly Stitching

Good Monday Morning! It is nice to finally see some sun and no rain here in Ky. We had a lot of rain the past week and storms over the weekend, tornadoes in some places. There is quite a bit of flooding as well. These pictures are from Louisville, which is about an hour from me.

I worked a little bit on the Early Americans series, the Martha Washington square but I forgot to take an updated picture. I also started on the George project but only about 200 stitches, so I will update with that next week when I have more done. Then, I had a start and a finish! I am a BAP girl but I really liked stitching something much smaller and getting a finish so quickly. I think I am going to finish it as a no sew cube but can't decide. Any suggestions?

February Cottage-Country Cottage Needleworks

I didn't have any haul this week but I did received an amazing project bag from my friend a few weeks ago and I have failed to show it. Isn't this great?!

Weekly Stitching and Haul

It is going to be 82 in Ky today! I need to celebrate it up as tomorrow it is going to be back in the low 40's. Hope you are having great weather where you are.

I am loving this project and I don't think I am going to stop on it until it is done.

Early Americans-Little House Needleworks

I started a new project and the pink color on the flower isn't the correct color. I like its spring looking brightness but I am going to have to rip out so that the correct colors will all match better.

Basket of Cherries-Garden Series 1-Blackbird Designs

I have one item of haul this week and I am planning to start it soon.

George and the Dragon-Vermillion Stitchery

I am in search of the companion piece to go with this one. If you have this in pattern or kit form and are willing to sell to me for a reasonable price, please contact me.

Weekly Stitching and Haul

Happy Fat Tuesday!!! It seems very early to be saying that but I hope everyone get in a little celebration today as we get the start of the Easter season going.

I started a new project. What a shocker! I bought a pattern of Elsa and one of Anna from Frozen to do for my nieces and I decided to start them, in hopes of having them both finished by Christmas. It is a beautiful stained glass look but the confetti is killing me. I must start looking at patterns closer before I purchase. I don't have much done but pretty decent for only a few days work.

She will look like this when finished.

I decided to pull out the Early Americans series on Thursday. I had to rip a good portion out of the Betsy Ross square and then I stitched on this project all weekend. I know I put it in time out due to having to rip out but I wish I had done it at the time and continued to work on it, as I love this project. It is my goal to continue working on this until I finish or feel like I need to rotate. I have discovered that I started it too far over on the fabric and I am going to be close to the right edge but it is just going to have to work.

I purchased the Mirabilia in January and the Plum Street in February. I really want to start the Plum Street Sampler one soon but I still need fabric for it. I was enabled by a flosstuber!

I hope your temps are getting warmer and lots of stitching is had by all this week!

Farmhouse Christmas Series-Little House Needleworks

Is anyone else a sucker for a series? I am, especially when it is from Little House Needleworks. I am sure that you all have seen the new series entitled Farmhouse Christmas. I have the first pattern on order and need to look through my fabric to see if I have anything that works. Would anyone like to join me in a SAL? I most likely will not start it until the middle/end of February.

You can check out the site for information on items needed to complete the series and there is also a free border to do all the patterns on one large piece of fabric, which is what I will be doing.

Weekly Stitching

Can you believe that July is almost over? I always feel that summer is flying by after July 4 but the heat and humidity has been so bad here, I am ready for it to be over this year.

I got quite a bit of stitching done this week and I am very happy about that. A great way to spend my time inside during these hot days.

Henry VIII-Heaven and Earth Designs

It still looks like a blob of dark color but I have three full rows finished. I am stitching this on 16 count aida with DMC thread.

Americana Series-Little House Needleworks

I started this series over the weekend and I am stitching all nine designs on the same piece of fabric. This is being stitching on the called for Tin Roof with DMC thread.

I am currently in two round robins and one of those is a Lizzie Kate theme. This is the piece I was to stitch on this month. I stitched the Cookies area.

I have been wanting some kind of cross stitch stand and I have been perusing the net for awhile in search. So I finally decided on one and received it.
It is the Stitch Master from FA Edmunds. I am very excited about this purchase.

I was able to work on my rotation some last week but not as much as I had planned. I had a stitch friend come to my house on Thursday and we attended a stitch retreat over the weekend so my rotation was amended a little. But that is good with me as I was able to get quite a bit accomplished. I have quite a bit to show with haul so I am going to post that and info about the retreat in another posting. I hope you all have a great stitch week!

Weekly Update and Haul

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you all have had a great holiday weekend.

I was able to work on two projects this past week. The first one is Medieval Town Mandala by Chatelaine.

I also worked on Gothic Cross by Heaven and Earth Designs and was able to get quite a bit done.

And now for haul-I got some pretty great stuff this past week.

The first two selections in the American Series.

I purchased fabric for this project as I am going to stitch all 9 on one piece of fabric.
This is 32 count Tin Roof.

I got two pieces of this blue and white gingham that I am going to use for a Wizard of Oz pattern that I got out of a magazine. I apologize that I can't show the pattern as I only have the actual pattern and not a picture of the finished project. I am stitching this twice, ond for me and one for a friend.

Isn't this fabric fantastic?! I saw someone that had used this fabric and stitched a mermaid on it and I thought I need that too!

I hope this week is great for you all and you find time to get some stitches in.

Haul

I am really trying to slow down on the haul as I get ready for the Stitch from Stash 2017 challenge and here is what I received this week.

I have been on the autoship program with The Silver Needle for the set of ABC Sampler by Little House Needleworks. There will 9 in the series and number 5 was just shipped out. I am doing these as individual pieces and I think will finish them all as small pillows to display in a pretty basket.

The fabric for the ABC piece.

I am a huge fan of England and everything related and I have wanted to do this pattern for several years. I am very excited to get it. Henry VIII and his Six Wives.

My friend Cindi sent me a great gift this week. She had a qsnap cover and bootie that she was using on her 272 Words piece and I commented on how I liked the Americana fabric, so she made me a set. Aren't these fantastic??

I hope you all have a great week with some goodies that arrive in the mail!

Haul

Yesterday, I walked in the door and there were packages! I ordered a project bag and qsnap cover last week and was shocked that I got it so quickly. The bag and cover are for 17 x 17 qsnap size and the fabric is just great. I love the yellow brick road fabric that lines the inside. I purchased this from a cool chic on Facebook named Deanna. Be sure and check out her page, place an order and tell her Laura sent you!

I love Little House Needleworks and I signed up for autoship to receive their Presenting ABC Samplers series. I am purchasing these from the Silver Needle. I chose to have the fabric sent with each pattern and I received the third installment in the series.

I have a couple of more items on the way and I should have those by the first of next week. Share your haul with me in the comments!
